Personalization

Set yourself a scene...

You're browsing through a sales page and it has your name on it.

First thought's? Yep, I'd be pretty happy too!

If you haven't started personalizing your website yet, you should as soon as possible.

If you're wondering what personalization is, the simple answer is:

Personalization is changing the way your website looks in a way that appeals to a customer.

In fact, 68% of businesses have made personalization their top priority in business.

With some reporting up to a 720% increase in conversions alone!

So how can you add a little personalization to your site and funnels:

To find the personalization tab, head over to the settings cog on your dashboard.

Firstly, if using the member's parameters. These are used once you have a member in your CRM. You're able to display their name and any other parameter to their course pages, funnels, pages and so on.

Using the member parameter will not work if the user is not a member of 'something' in your CRM.

This is where you can use the URL Parameter field - {param-name} and also create your own custom parameter. It sounds really confusing, but it's really straightforward and totally worth doing.

So to use the parameters, you first need to collect the information from somewhere. You can use our built-in forms and pop-ups. Or as shown in this example. We're using Facebook Messenger to extract customer information and inject that into our sales page.

Step 1

Create your custom parameter. (In the name block- name your field) it will then automatically create your parameter {first_name} as shown below.

When naming your parameter, remember that you need an existing parameter elsewhere. For example, a field in your forms and pop-ups or in our case, from Facebook messenger.

Step 2

In our example, we're using Facebook messenger as our origination data point. 'Customer information'

Shown below is an image of how we needed to modify the URL string, by adding our personalisation tag.

Note: After your URL, you need to add a question mark '?' then carry on adding your parameter fields you wish to extract and display in your website and funnels.

Example: www.yourwebsite.com?first_name=

And that's it!

Now that you have your parameters set, add them to your website pages, funnels, and blog pages.
